Why Education Matters In A Chimney Sweep

When it comes to your chimney system, it’s important to hire only certified professionals who have the know-how to get the job done right. It’s not enough for a chimney sweep to work on your chimney and do a proficient job. A chimney sweep should also teach homeowners and communities the importance of chimney and fire safety. At White Glove Chimney and Air Duct, our main priority is safety. That is why we make education a top priority as well.

White Glove CSIA certified technicians are always educating Nor Cal residents on air duct maintenance and fireplace cleaning to prevent fires.

CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps

Unlike other companies in the industry, White Glove Chimney and Air Duct take our education straight to the top. By following rigorous studying, classroom training, and a three-hour examination we have earned the CSIA certified credential. A CSIA certification ensures our customers that we are abreast of all residential and fire safety codes and standards. Our CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps (CCS) are not trained while working on your chimney but in a program designed to cultivate excellence without putting your home at risk. We are not learning our job in your home!

The White Glove Advantage

Our technicians receive 70 hours of training in an in-house curriculum which combines classroom theory, hands-on lab time, and 45 hours of online classes. Unlike many companies who might only have one or two techs with the CSIA-certification, we invest in each of our techs. When we hire someone, we pay for this valuable training because it is an investment in our community and our company.

Continued Education for Excellence

Just in 2019 alone, our chimney sweeps have received 10 days of outside training totaling 80 hours in topics of business, gas service, masonry, sales, prevention of water penetration, fall protection, and inspections. This training is in addition to a standard re-certification required every three years for CSIA certification. This type of commitment to excellence isn’t required by other companies in our area, and not just anyone would put in the time. These are the types of professionals we hire at White Glove. In order to offer the best services in the industry, we must expect the best from our own technicians by offering only the best training.

If you reside in Chico, California, and own or rent a home with a fireplace or chimney, we can service it. The certification, training, and education of our employees represent the large commitment on their part to excel in this field and our commitment to their success as chimney professionals. It is our highest honor to offer expert services to keep your family safe and warm this and every winter. No matter how much training and how many certifications we have, it comes down to the homeowner to make chimney maintenance a priority!
